Meeting of the Expert Council of the The Emergencies Ministry of Russia

19 December 2017 in the The Emergencies Ministry of Russia the meeting of the Expert Council was held under the leadership of Minister V. Puchkov who thanked the members of the Expert Council for their work and awarded them with medals “85 years of civil defense” for many years of work in summarizing the results of scientific research on fire safety in the multivolume edition of “Security of Russia”. V. Puchkov stressed in his speech that there is a lot of work to improve the regulatory framework. At the moment at the approval stage there is a document formalizing the basis of the state policy in the field of fire protection.

The members of the Expert Council presented reports on the topic of security systems at various levels. In particular, at the meeting, a member of the Expert Council of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia, the general director of the non-profit partnership Center for Planetary Defense and the director of the Center for Space Security of the Russian Academy of Sciences A. Zaitsev, presented a report on the state and prospects of protecting the population and territories from asteroid-comet hazard. A. Ageev, together with the expert of the Staff of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation N. Abrosimov and the Chairman of the Working Group under the President of the RAS on Risk Analysis and Security Problems, N. Makhutov, became a co-author of A. Zaitsev’s report. Also, N. Makhutov made a report on the results of the implementation of the multi-volume work “The Security of Russia”.

Alexander Ageev, General director of IRIAS, took part in the event and was awarded the medal “85 years of civil defense” for successful long-term work in the Expert Council of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia.
